| The directors of the
Collingwood Sports Hall of Fame invite the residents of our community to
submit nominations for consideration of member Induction in the
COLLINGWOOD SPORTS HALL OF FAME. Nominations within the ‘Builders’, ‘Athletes’ and ‘Team’ categories will be accepted commencing Tuesday, February 16 through Friday, April 2, 2010 at 5:00 pm. Official guidelines and nomination forms will be available at the Collingwood Town Chambers – Leisure Services Department for completion of the essential information. This process will provide the Selection Committee with the required facts in their consideration and endorsement. On Wednesday, May 12, the successful nominee's will be informed of their forthcoming induction followed by an official press release for the media distribution. The Hall of Fame, situated at the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena, was established to celebrate the rich sporting heritage of our community. Currently, the Hall of Fame features a grand total of 123 local builders & athletes that have moved into a professional sports career or achieved provincial/national amateur championships. Upon the Selection Committee’s recommendation for member Induction, the public will be welcomed to participate in the Collingwood Sports Hall of Fame Dinner planned this coming fall. This event will mark the 34 year since the Hall’s inception in 1976. |
